The LP3 Enzyme System In ALL ZYMOX Products
This powerful patented combination of enzymes features three naturally derived enzymes, lactoperoxidase, lysozyme, and lactoferrin. These are commonly found in milk products and when combined they work synergistically to destroy bacterial and fungal microorganisms without the use of antibiotics.
The line for reptiles, avian, and small animal/exotics offer a Topical Solution and a Topical Spray. The Topical Solution and Topical Spray may be used interchangeably or in conjunction with each other. Both the Topical Solution and Topical Spray feature the patented LP3 Enzyme System. However, the Solution is generally better tolerated by the pet when applying to the ears, areas near the face or smaller, localized areas. The Spray is ideal for larger areas of the body. The Spray also contains an additional ingredient, aloe vera, which can enhance the healing process of wounds, burns, etc.
Both of these products can be used interchangeably but the difference is in the viscosity and delivery system. The Topical Solution’s liquid is thicker, like a syrup and the Spray is thinner like water. There are benefits to each. Because the Solution is thicker, it can be easier to apply to targeted areas with an applicator. The Spray is thinner, making it easier to cover more area of a body.
There other products on the market for use on birds, reptiles, small animals etc. However, none of the products utilize the field-proven science of the advanced technology of enzymes. No, the ZYMOX Topical Spray and Topical Solution for Avian Care do not contain oil. Both products for birds and poultry are water based, dissolve in water and will not leave an oily residue on the feathers. Oil based products are not recommended for birds because oils can cause the feathers to mat and separate.
The ZYMOX Topical Spray for Avian Care contains aloe vera. This is a beneficial ingredient to reduce irritation, inflammation, and reduce feather picking and excessive molting. Aloe is helpful to restore the natural moisture level of the plumage and strengthen the feathers without damaging the feather’s natural fat layer.
The core ingredients of the antimicrobial LP3 Enzyme System are identical in all ZYMOX products. The biggest difference is no hydrocortisone is added to any of the products for small animals and exotics. Cats and kittens, puppies and dogs generally tolerate hydrocortisone but it is not recommended for use on small mammals and exotics like snakes. Packaging focused on these species will help remove the guess work of pet owners considering which products to use. Species specific packaging will enable the products to also be placed in health sections for small animals an exotics.
