Having FUN Virtually – The TICA Virtual Cat Show

Posted - June 15, 2020

Ever thought about showing your cat in a competition but did not know where to start or how cats are judged? Ever wanted to attend but the location or timing wasn’t convenient? There’s good news! In the wake of all the large event cancellations, including dog and cat shows, there is one FUNdraising event anyone can take part in by competing or observing — The International Cat Association (TICA) Virtual Cat Shows.

Since these shows launched in March, there have been ten opportunities to compete with the emphasis on having fun. Being virtual has also meant people could enter multiple shows in multiple regions of their choice. There are no actual ribbons awarded but there are some prizes provided by sponsors as well as virtual ribbons.

This show has offered a little of something FUN for everyone. In addition to the traditional categories one would find at a competition, this virtual cat show has opportunities for anyone to join in with categories for household cats without a pedigree such as cats of mixed breeds, kittens, funny felines capturing a funny moment or blooper. And there are opportunities to honor those pets who are waiting at the Rainbow Bridge. And if that was not enough fun, there is even a Junior Exhibitor competition for any kid under the age of 18 to create a three minute or less video of themselves presenting their cat or a presentation of a breed of their choice.

This has been a great event to watch and for ZYMOX® to sponsor, especially because we are a pet-centric company.  The employees at Pet King Brands, the maker of ZYMOX Dermatology Products and Oratene® Brushless Oral Care, find great satisfaction knowing they are providing products that help animals lead healthy and happy lives.  It has been a joy to be a part of this FUNdraising event because we know how important animals are in the lives of people. It is more than just love and companionship that they provide – and that is huge! They are also good for our physical and mental health.

If you are feeling disappointed you have missed out on participating in the last ten TICA Virtual Cat Shows, you’re not too late; you can still participate in the International Finale with judging on June 27-28.
